Join the Team- Music Therapist Job Position

We are seeking 1-2 passionate and dedicated part-time/full time music therapist/s to join our team. Our studios serve a diverse range of clients, including neurodiverse children, adolescents, and adults, as well as individuals with mental health and other diverse needs such as in home sessions with seniors and group homes.

We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, supportive, and close-knit team environment. As such, we are seeking candidates who are genuinely interested in building a long-term role with us. If you're exploring a short-term opportunity (e.g., 6 months to 1 year), this position is not the right fit.

Job Parameters:

Effective Mid July, 2025:

MONDAYS (5 hours) Richmond Studio

  • 4 clients (weekly)

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 8:15- 1:15pm (filled), 4pm In Home session

  • day and times are non negotiable as there are current clients in the slots that will be transitioning over to you.

TUESDAYS (9 hours) Richmond Studio

  • 3 clients (weekly)

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 3:15-6:45pm (filled), 8:30am-1:15pm (potential)

  • day and times are non negotiable as there are current clients in the slots that will be transitioning over to you.

Wednesdays (5 hours) North Vancouver Studio

  • 5 clients (weekly)

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 8:15- 2:10pm (filled)

  • day and times are non negotiable as there are current clients in the slots that will be transitioning over to you.

In Home sessions (days negotiable)

3 clients (weekly)

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 2 seniors’ sessions, and one group home session

Effective Immediately:

WEDNESDAYS (3 hours) Richmond Studio

  • 3 clients (weekly), with potential to add 4 more in the morning

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 3:15-6:45pm (filled)

  • day and times are non negotiable as there are current clients in the slots that will be transitioning over to you.

FRIDAYS (3 hours) Richmond Studio

  • 3 clients (weekly)

  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions

  • 3:15-6:45pm

Training Period: effective now (2 weeks paid training)

Start Date: Immediately following training completion

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have an avid interest & passion in working with autistic individuals, and other neurodiverse children, teens and young adults with diverse needs, as well as mental Health clients.

  • Applicant should have/but not required to have: experience working with autistic individuals, those with diverse needs

  • Applicant must be creative, driven, energetic

  • Applicant must have high stamina and a strong work ethic

  • Applicant must have strong and dynamic skills in piano and guitar, including improvisation

  • Applicant must be confident in using their voice acapella and within structured interventions

  • Applicant must have strong music theory knowledge and application

  • Applicant must have strong team collaboration skills and enjoy being part of a team

  • Provision of Enterprise Level Cloud Therapy Documentation Platform: UnitusTI (including additional digital materials bundle access for clients/families use), + provision of expert music therapist app’s package.

  • Training in, and on going use of: the Meet In The Music© - music therapy curriculum

  • Provision, Supply & Maintenance of: music instruments, materials, props, other session manipulatives

  • Provision of session site

  • Provision of cleaning/ health supplies (masks, cleaning supplies)

  • Ongoing curation of new clients

  • Ongoing connection meetings with para- professionals for referrals & ongoing relationship maintenance of funding bodies and charities

  • Ongoing supervision of sessions & professional consultation 

  • Ongoing provision of professional development training & financial coverage of external learning opportunities
